QuickPic Alternatives For Android – Review

Are you looking for the best QuickPic alternatives for android? We all know that QuickPic and many other applications from Cheetah mobile were taken down from the Play Store. QuickPic silently moved to the Play Store in the worst form ever.

But now it comes back with an aggressive advertisement, quashed CM Cloud support, and tons of bugs. Now the Gallery app can’t play videos and I have to export all my backs. As CM cloud backup will be erased prior to July 15, 2019. Nothing looks so good about QuickPic.  So, we have made a list of top QuickPic alternatives.

All these alternatives apps don’t need a Wi-Fi connection and neither they ask you to sign in.

List Of QuickPic Alternatives For Android

QuickPic Revived

QuickPic Revived

When the Cheetah app took over QuickPic, it was a fast, small, and free Gallery app. And if you are the one who can’t live without this app, I’ll suggest you check out the QuickPic v4.5.2. It’s the last variant before Cheetah bought it.

However, there is also a bargain while using this model. Of all the features, the cloud backup or cloud services don’t work. As the API is being used by the recent version, it leads to an API error for the earlier one.

Also, you still use it to manage or organize offline media. The WiFi Transfer works well and so do many other basic features such as Moments, Slideshow, Photo Search, etc. In case if you don’t like to move to any other gallery app, this one looks to be the best fallback option.

Camera Roll

Camera Roll is another open-source Gallery app that is built around Google Photos design. However, the Gallery Interface of the app identical to Google Photos. Rather than that, it uses most many Google APIs for smooth scrolling and thumbnail display.

The most favorite feature of the apps is that it is compatible with RAW photos such as DNG, CR2, etc. It not only displays RAW photos but also you can edit them. It can also store it back in .png. I love the inbuilt video player which switches to PIP mode whenever you exit the app.

Camera Roll also shows Images on external devices but I couldn’t find the choice to copy or transfer media to external storage. The inbuilt File Explorer is the best option but can’t display media previews. The app lets you check Hidden folders but you can’t password-protect them.

Pros:
  • Compatible with all image formats like RAW.
  • It supports external storage media or SD card
  • Videos in PIP
  • Inbuilt Video Player.
Cons:
  • Absence of cloud services, Dropbox Integration, or Google Photos.
  • The thumbnail is in 8-bit Color max which is far less.
  • Not good at password protection
  • Lack of Recycle Bin.

LeafPic

LeafPic

LeafPic is another open-source option for QuickPic. However, this is similar to the minimal scaled-down variant. The UI is identical but you have comparatively some features. It is for a user with limited requirements.

LeafPic lets you force rotate the screen when the auto-rotate is off. It is an extremely helpful feature as I can watch the pictures in Landscape mode. You can also set up or use hidden folders and password protect them. It only offers PIN support and you don’t need to use a pattern or your fingerprint. LeafPic also provides an inbuilt Video player that can only play MP4 formats. Also, it supports or compatible with RAW images and you can also edit and store them.

Overall, LeafPic is no doubt a light-weight chocie for QuickPic but it can’t appeal to the power users. You get all the best options rather than cloud services.

Pros:
  • Password protect hidden files
  • Force rotate
  • Compatibles with RAW Images
  • Inbuilt Video Player.
Cons:
  • No Cloud services or slideshow option
  • It lacks a Recycle bin.

Simple Gallery Pro

Simple Gallery Pro is another top-rated or most popular open-source Gallery app for Android. The UI seems like QuickPic pro and some of its controls are the same. You can also get the Sort and Search option located at the top-right corner. The pictures are placed in grids in columns which can be decreased or increased with the pinch-to-zoom gesture.

Just like QuickPic, you have the most popular Slideshow option which helps to check all the pictures in a folder. However, Gallery Pro lets you hide folders and then Password protect them. You can also select to have a Fingerprint or Pattern rather than a password. I love the recycle bin feature which works similarly Dumpster app. If I mistakenly remove a photo or various photos, I can always move back to the Recycle bin to recover it.

Just Gallery Pro could be the best replacement for QuickPic but it misses out on the cloud services. You can’t connect your DropBox media or Google Photos.

Pros:
  • It contains no Ads.
  • Password protect hidden folders.
  • Inbuilt media playback or editor
  • Compatible with RAW files & GIF.
  • Slideshow
Cons:
  • It lacks Google Photos/Dropbox integration.

Memoria

Memoria

Memoria offers an advanced UI design. It offers a makeover and functions seem quite similar to Google Photos. The gesture pinch-to-zoom allows you to increase or decrease the grid size. You can also swipe right or left to toggle between “My Albums”, “My Photos”, and “My Favourites”.

If we talk about Favourites, to instantly add a picture to your favorites, click the heart icon on the picture and it gets added to the list. Memoria also shows Images based on Date but you can modify that to Size or Name according to your preference. Recently, it launches a Recycle bin within the gallery. The Recycle bin saves your Image for 30 days by default. However, that can be modified in the Settings menu. The app offers highly active development support and cloud service and Google Photos integrations soon.

But, it fails while handling big RAW or JPEG images. You not just zoom in to the Image. A time comes when I found a quiet bit of delay while loading the pictures. Also, it features subtle ads that can be erased after purchasing the pro version at $1.5.

Pros:
  • Bookmark Images.
  • Recycle Bin.
  • Advance UI and gestures.
  • Inbuilt Video Player.
Cons:
  • Can’t edit RAW images.
  • Lack of Google Photos Integration.
  • Slideshow.

F-Stop Gallery

F-Stop is a robust alternative for QuickPic. It includes a premium version, it provides an insane amount of features such as attaching metadata to pictures, cloud services, Google Photos integration, etc. The UI is quite identical to the QuickPic card layout style. You’ll then get all the quick actions located in the top right corner.

Whenever you open a picture, it’s stacked up at the top. And on the bottom, you’ll then get the remaining images in a small grid. You can instantly switch between the images after clicking on them. Rather than these, it offers an inbuilt video player that handles MP4 videos. You can then customize the media player gestures such as swipe actions or gesture length, etc. F-Stop also generates a slideshow of the folders. The native search option is also very powerful and you can then search using Boolean Operators.

F-Stop is a complete alternative for QuickPic but many features are premium. The folder categorization is best but it is a type of unintuitive. I just loved it if it was accessible within a single click.

Pros:
  • Image Bookmarking
  • Cloud services
  • Meta Data Tagging
  • Swipe gestures
  • Slideshow
Cons:
  • Ads

Piktures

Piktures

Piktures also comes with the full-feature of gesture. Also, Piktures can also organize or manage your gallery. The UI is quite different from all the applications on this list. You’ll then get a Parallax effect located at the top with an image preview. The folders are stacked from the left side drawer that you can pull using a left swipe. The app is quite fluid and you can then swipe past menus using gestures.

You can also connect your One Drive, Google Drive, or DropBox account with Piktures. It allows you to manage media on cloud services. For privacy, you can then move your media to a secret drive inbuilt in the Gallery App. Also, it encrypts or password protects the secret drive so third-party media can’t access it. The secret drive stays on the local device so it is good to see it’s secure. Also, it offers an inbuilt Bar Code scanner that can be accessed after tapping on the floating button at the bottom right.

Piktures is the best QuickPic replacement using free Dropbox Integration or Google Drive. The best thing that bugged me is it can’t manage RAW images. It was quite amazing as I expected it to be a quite simple feature.

Pros:
  • Cloud services.
  • Fluid and intuitive UI.
  • Secret encrypted drive.
  • Google Drive/Dropbox Integration.
Cons:
  • Nothing

Google Photos

Google Photos is quite different from QuickPic. But, the amount of features or utilities it offers is amazing. It can automatically categorize your image based on face, location, type, etc. The Image search or categorization is just brilliant. Also, it makes animated collages for you that are based on daily activity.

Rather than the usual things, we have lost amazing features that are being added to Google Photos. Recently, they started supporting Motion Photos from other camera apps such as Samsung Motion Pictures. It not just plays them but also tries to stabilize and change those images. The Google Lens comes with Google Photos and it is the best and a neat feature that helps to instantly or scan Google the product. Also, it can change your old docs or pictures into digital and I have to say the results are outstanding.

Conclusion:

These were the best QuickPic alternatives. If you are an old user of QuickPic, I suggested you use LeafPic or Camera Roll. Also, if you don’t use Google Drive or cloud services to save media, Just Photos Pro or QuickPic Revived is the best choice for you. For the best QuickPic Replacement, I would say choose Piktures or the premium F-Stop Gallery App.
